In June 2022 Blomeyer & Sanz finalised a study for the European Parliament Budgetary Control Committee on the “COVID-19 response of EU public administration”. The study reviewed the EU institutions’ response, their business continuity measures and their impact on the budget from 2020 onwards and staff of the respective institution. Additionally, it provided an overview of practices and challenges around the new working modalities EU institutions are adopting for the post-pandemic future, as well as recommendations for the way forward. The analysis covered seven European institutions: the European Parliament (EP), the European Commission (EC), the European Court of Justice (CJEU), the European Court of Auditors (ECA), the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the European External Action Service (EEAS).
