Dignity contracted Blomeyer and Sanz to conduct an evaluation of the International Accountability Platform for Belarus (IAPB). The evaluation assessed the level of support by the platform and provided some recommendations for improvement.
The IAPB is a consortium of four independent international and Belarusian NGOs that gathered following the 2020 Belarusian presidential election and related human rights violations. The platform was launched on 24 March 2021 and aims to collect, consolidate, verify and preserve evidence of gross human rights violations which constitute crimes under international law, committed by Belarusian authorities. The latest progress report notes that over 30,000 witness-related documents and 1.5 million open-source records have been collected by the IAPB so far, ready to support judicial investigations.
