At the request of the European Parliament’s Committee on Budgetary Control, Blomeyer & Sanz has conducted a study on Special Advisers to the European Commission. The study proposes an overview of the selection of Special Advisers to the European Commission, specifically during the period 2014-2019. It also provides an overview of the budgetary implications, contractual terms and transparency of the appointments made. Moreover, it includes good practices in different Member States and recommendations on how to further strengthen the EC framework.
