blomeyer & sanz has completed its contribution to a DG Agriculture assignment on organic agriculture in Latin America and Asia. The assignment aimed to assess the applications submitted by 12 third countries to be included in the list of recognised third countries foreseen in Commission Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008. This list aims to verify that products from recognised third countries, placed in the Community market, are subject to production rules and control systems equivalent to those established for organic products in the EU (i.e. in Council Regulation (EC) 834/2007). In cooperation with Bureau Veritas, the University of Wageningen and the Scottish Rural College we reviewed the third country applications, including missions to Columbia, Ecuador and Chile.
