On 24 June 2026, Blomeyer & Sanz had the pleasure of attending Club de Madrid’s Annual Policy Dialogue event in Madrid. The event brings together foreign dignitaries, former presidents and prime ministers, academia and research, and the private sector to discuss global issues. This year’s conference was entitled “Annual Policy Dialogue on Governing and Delivering Global Public Goods in a Fragmented World”, a topic integrally related to our research and evaluation work.
During the session entitled “Delivering Global Public Goods Across Levels: From Global Action to Local Impact”, the speakers agreed on the importance of ensuring full and effective delivery of public goods from international frameworks. In fact, they emphasised that delivery at the local level is what often makes effectiveness and sustainability possible. We found this echoing our commitment to project evaluation services that identify the mechanisms which enable service delivery, whether it be related to health, education, good governance, etc. In the roundtable entitled “Digital Public Infrastructure and AI for the Public Good”, speakers emphasised the importance of proper infrastructure for internet access, the ways in which AI can assist professions and regions with limited resources, and how AI needs to be regulated to ensure ethical uses both personally and commercially.
Overall, it was an event which sparked good discussion, and we look forward to seeing the work that Club de Madrid continues on these important topics. We are grateful for the opportunity to have participated as part of the research community in European and global affairs touching on these topics.
