Blomeyer & Sanz finalised the assessment of the project “Strengthening Religious and Faith-Based Actors (RFBAs)’ Engagement with Transitional Justice”. The project was implemented by the Global Initiative for Justice, Truth and Reconciliation, led by the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience (ICSC) in 2021 and 2022. The evaluation, based on desk review and stakeholder consultations, confirms the positive performance of the project vis-à-vis the evaluation criteria of relevance, effectiveness, added value, and sustainability. The project was very relevant for its final beneficiaries, since it addressed the fact that there was a gap in research on the role played by RFBAs in transitional justice. The effectiveness of the project was also very high, and the project has fully achieved its three specific objectives. Finally, the evaluation considers that the level of sustainability of the project is high. Indeed, project participants acquired new knowledge and capacities that will remain past the project’s conclusion. Additionally, the tool has a strong potential to be used by other actors active in the field of transitional justice.
