blomeyer & sanz presents the findings of a briefing note on Fisheries Policy in the European Parliament
On 11 February 2014, Mike Beke (blomeyer & sanz) presented in the European Parliament the findings of the briefing note “the Common Fisheries Policy – Infringement Procedures and Imposed Sanctions throughout the European Union”. The study identifies potential risks in the ways different Member States follow-up on infringements, thus undermining compliance of CFP rules. Therefore, Member States are recommended to enhance cooperation on inspecting fisheries and sanctioning infringements, ensuring an effective system for following-up and imposing deterrent sanctions to avoid recidivism.
