Blomeyer & Sanz has assessed a project for the Global Initiative for Justice Truth and Reconciliation
Blomeyer & Sanz completed the assessment of the Global Initiative for Justice Truth and Reconciliation (a consortium led by the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience) project ‘Understanding and Addressing Violations of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Transitional Justice’. The project was implemented in Indonesia and in The Gambia with the goal of integrating violations of economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR) in transitional justice processes. The project contributed to enhance awareness of violations of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR) in transitional justice, expand the base of evidence available to transitional justice stakeholders and communities and lead to recommendations and criteria for inclusion of ESCR violations in transitional justice. The evaluation was based on desk review and consultations with key stakeholders as the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI), the Asia Justice and Rights (AJAR) and the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR). A peer evaluator was also designed and closely involved at all the different stages of evaluation.
