Blomeyer & Sanz awarded European Parliament study on new MFF and Transport

Blomeyer & Sanz was awarded an analytical research study for the European Parliament entitled “Investing in Transport in the new MFF”, in cooperation with Etelätär. The team held the kick-off meeting with the Parliament in mid-December and is looking forward to beginning the research in early 2026.

The study has an overall objective of providing EU legislators with an evidence-based and comparative assessment of the value for money of transport investments opportunities contained in the Commission’s MFF proposal package for the planning period 2028–2034 of 16 July 2025. It will be elaborated in five parts: identification of the different types of transport investments to be supported through MFF funding; analysis of the value for money of the different types of transport investments, including a special focus on the proposal establishing the Connecting Europe Facility for the period 2028-2034; an assessment of the interactions between different sources of MFF funding; identification and assessment of the review/flexibility provisions in and across MFF proposals; and lastly, the study will, if desired, provide on-the-go expertise to the Rapporteur and shadow rapporteurs. The research is expected to finalise in Spring 2026.
