On the 4th of December 2014 blomeyer & sanz attended the AGE Platform Europe’s annual conference ‘Towards an EU Strategy on Demographic Change’. Demographic ageing is one of the major challenges our societies face today and the Conference focused on how EU, Member State and regional / local authorities can adapt to the needs of their ageing populations. The European Commission played a key in role in the conference and speakers from DG Employment, DG Justice and DG Connect illustrated the new EU ‘proactive’ strategies on ageing policies. In addition external stakeholders from academics, social NGOs and industry representatives participated at the conference showing the importance of innovation to adapt society and local communities to ageing population.
