The study aimed to investigate the link between fishing activity and the core BG innovation strategy. Emphasis was placed on defining what is and/or could be the role for small-scale fisheries in BG and investigating any opportunities that BG should offer to small-scale fisheries and coastal communities in the context of economic growth, employment and innovation. The study was prepared by Blomeyer & Sanz (Kim Stobberup, Roland Blomeyer, Nicolò Franceschelli) in cooperation with Oceanic Développement and experts from the University of Vigo.
